What are the fiber internet providers in Orlando?

AT&T, CenturyLink, EarthLink, Quantum Fiber, Summit Broadband, and Hotwire Communications all provide fiber internet in Orlando.

Fiber internet has limited availability nationwide, so you might not be able to get one of these providers in your area. But if one of these providers is available, we definitely recommend signing up for fiber internet—fiber gives you incredibly fast speeds and a reliable connection, usually for a decent price.

Orlando residential internet coverage

AT&T, Spectrum, and CenturyLink are the largest internet providers in Orlando. EarthLink and Xfinity are also available, but their coverage is not quite so widespread. Viasat and HughesNet are your only satellite internet options if landline internet services are not available in your area.

Spectrum is a cable internet provider that blankets the entire city and most of the surrounding suburbs. Its plans range from up to 300 Mbps to 1,000 Mbps (wireless speeds may vary).

AT&T also has widespread coverage in Orlando. Its fiber internet ranges from 300 Mbps to 5,000 Mbps, while its DSL service maxes out at 75 Mbps or 100 Mbps, depending on the plan.

CenturyLink has better coverage on the west side compared to the southeast side of the city. CenturyLink offers just two plans: fiber internet with speeds up to 940 Mbps and DSL internet with speeds up to 100 Mbps.

Xfinity is primarily a cable internet provider. It’s also available to much of Orlando, including neighborhoods extending all the way south to Kissimmee. Xfinity’s coverage doesn’t quite make it to northern parts of the city, however.

Finally, Summit Broadband provides fiber internet to Eatonville and much of the city proper. Cogent Communications beams internet connections to a very limited area: Callahan, Lake Eola Heights, and Lake Cherokee.

If no other options are available in your area, Viasat and HughesNet are your best alternatives. Satellite internet speeds are slower than physical connections, and the plans are more expensive.

Highest-rated internet service providers in Orlando

EarthLink grabbed the top spot in our annual customer satisfaction survey for overall satisfaction among national internet providers. EarthLink also ranked first for price and customer service. A full 70% of the survey’s respondents said they had never experienced a price hike on their plan, and 83% said their internet speeds “always” or “usually” met their needs.

Spectrum landed in the top three for overall satisfaction and took first place for speed. A whopping 92% of Spectrum customers said their speeds “always” or “usually” met their needs while 80% said it was “extremely easy,” “very easy” or “fairly easy” to get help from customer service.

Another top-ranking provider in Orlando is T-Mobile, which operates a 5G home internet service that survey respondents ranked highly for speed, price, and customer service. However, 14% of T-Mobile customers also said they “always” or “often” dealt with internet outages.

AT&T and Xfinity got similar rankings as Spectrum for overall satisfaction. AT&T ranked well for price while Xfinity tied with Spectrum for speed. Both providers seem to have happy customers generally. CenturyLink all ranked closer towards the middle in our survey.
